Most of the time, downloading videos and images from Pinterest works without a hitch. But every now and then, something doesn't quite go as planned. Maybe the link won't process, the file won't download, or you can't figure out where it was saved.
The good news? These problems are usually pretty easy to fix once you know what to look for. Here are the issues that come up most often and what actually works to solve them.
The Link Won't Process
You paste the Pinterest link, hit download, and... nothing happens. No error message, no download options.
What usually fixes it:
- Double-check that you've copied the link to the actual video pin, not just the Pinterest homepage or your feed.
- Make sure you clicked into the pin so it opened fully before grabbing the URL.
- Avoid using shortened links or ones that redirect through other sites.
- If it still won't work, refresh the page and paste the link again. That clears out temporary glitches more often than you'd think.
No Download Button Appears
The link looks correct, you've pasted it in, but there's still no option to actually download anything.
Your internet connection might be the issue here, even if other sites are loading fine. Reload the page and try again. Sometimes it helps to go back to Pinterest and let the video buffer completely before copying the link. If it hasn't fully loaded on Pinterest's end, the downloader can't capture it properly.
File Downloads but Refuses to Play
The download completes without errors, but when you try to watch the video, it either freezes or an error message shows up.
MP4 is the standard format and works on almost everything, but if you're using an older device, it might struggle. In this case, try VLC. If that doesn't work, the download itself might be corrupted. Delete it and download it again, making sure your connection doesn't drop partway through.
Slow Downloads
If a video download that should take 10 seconds is still going after two minutes, your network is probably overloaded.

- Search your device for files modified in the last hour.

Browser Compatibility Issues
